Refugees

And since "just fun" hasn't been had in a while, I thought it was time for this.

Also, I've been rethinking how I use colour, and that's really what led to this.

White Meat

Deep in the ocean, in the dark of night. There lies your fear.
Dreams had in the dead  of night. And people disappear.
You know what you want. And yet, you are still here.
Even when I know that you know that I don't.
Damning as they are, you whisper the questions into my ear.

And another film :)

So here's the first Ad film that we ever shot (the five of us in the Film and Video Communication Programme, that is) which was an ad for  the Volkwagen Polo. The five of us are Bhushitendu Bhatt, Ashwarya Agarwal, Sachin Sasi and, well, me.

Yeah, so, I'm pretty proud of how this came out, and specially because the concept that we finally used was one of the first concepts that was proposed. Our guide for this project was Mr. Rajeev Raja, til recently the creative head of DDB Mudra.

Anyhow, so this is what was happening three weeks from now ( I know I'm messing with the chronology here by putting up this randomly but, meh)

Anyhow, now I'm stuck trying to think of a concept for my own little ad film and its not half as smooth sailing as tis one seemed to be. Anyhow, back to that, cheerio :)

Also, updating this, Here is the link to Archana's writing:  http://zealor.blogspot.in/

Mr. Button Skelterstrung

Here's what's been happening for the past couple of weeks... I shot a short animated video to "J'y Suis Jamais Alle" which is the OST to the film Amelie. I shot it with Angie, Pragya and Lakshmi. We wanted to make something that bubbled over with innocence, and here is :)

The Listening Party Goers

Okay, I want to dedicate this post to the LPG. Which is basically some more music loving. I love listening sessions. This is something that happens at my college, now that I've mentioned it a few times, where people get together in the jam room and just listen to whatever album is playing, which usually not a very mainstream album, the point being to expose each other to music that we haven't heard before. But. I canceled today's session, not enough people on campus, so (also I was instrumental in setting this listening group up, its finally been called the Listening Party Goers, which was Shesh's idea) but I did start with some artwork for it, which turned out to be pretty fun to do :)

And then I thought I'd try some different colour schemes

And then I also realised just how much artwork LPG has collected, because there are posters every week, for every session, so I thought I'd put up some of them here.

This one was made by Anusha Menon. Farfetch'd is a post-rock project from Delhi/ Bangalore, which was started in May, 2011. You can listen to their music here.

This was one that I made, but now I think that I could have done better with the logo. Its actually just a reworking of their album cover, Snails are when I was young. Pangea is a band that I particularly love, they're a Progressive metal/ Ambient band based out of Bombay. This is their SoundCloud page

I really like this one track called the life of Epson Printer by them (of course it has everything to do with the name, but also its an awesome song)

This one was made by Akash Sheshadri ie. Shesh, and I really liked the whole vibe of this :) he is in the graphic design department of my college, and the one below, which I just LOVE, was made Nikunj Patel who is an animator, he's going to graduate soon, this is his tumblr page, and this is a project he recently started.

Peter Cat Recording Co. is a four piece gypsy jazz/ cabaret band formed in 2009, from San Francisco, New Delhi. The first time I heard of them, or heard them was at the listening session, and this band turned out to be so good that I've been dancing to it in drunken circles ever since. And then Gypsy Jazz sounds so romatic and generally chill.

This is their Soundcloud page.

This was again, a beauutiful poster made by Nikunj. In fact, it was so beautiful that when the posters were put up, it went missing frpm the pin boards long before the day of the session, so most of the college, I suspect, never saw the print up on the boards :/

Thrupence is the solo project of Jack Vanzet, a 23 year old designer and visual artist. Here's if you want to listen to him, and here is his art, which is also pretty interesting, and which I quite like. really.

Anyhow. I realised what a lot of posters LPG had collected, so here, here's a long, long post and lots of art. And lots of good music

Black Moth Super Rainbow

We will be listening tonight. Music Room Friday night sessions ( Except that it's Saturday this week, thanks to Lohri festivities this Friday) are on again, (yay!) and here's a poster.

Rushmore

This was a quick poster that I made for one of my favorite films of all time.
